The refrigerator door closed for the night. The party began! DJ Carrot stepped up to the turntables. She adjusted her glasses and raised a leafy fist. “Are you ready to mix it up?” she shouted. The crowd of veggies and fruits cheered. The tomatoes bounced in rhythm. The eggplant spun on its stem. The broccoli raised their florets high. Just as the party hit its peak, a deep, rumbling voice echoed through the fridge. “Who turned out the disco lights?”

The complication

  1. DJ Carrot must figure out who is responsible for the disco lights.
  2. The vegetables and fruits start panicking when they realise that the fridge might be running low on energy, threatening their party.
  3. A mischievous cucumber decides to play a prank by pretending to be the source of the rumbling voice, causing confusion among the party-goers.

Sentence starters

  1. Later that night, DJ Carrot decided it was time for a dance-off.
  2. Suddenly, a flash of light illuminated every corner of the refrigerator.
